A group of works by Tony Fomison (1939-1990) from his mother's estate went under the hammer at Webb's this month. Mary Fomison died last April in her 100th year, many years after her son’s untimely death. It was poignant to see these works gifted to her as her “annual picture” - the works she lived with and looked at every day. This impeccable provenance provided strong prices for each of these works, all of them selling well over the reserve prices.
