The large Royal Doulton character jugs shown above were lot 1044 and 1045 of Kingham & Orme's latest antique sale which took place on Saturday the 28th of July. As we understand these were prototypes and never put into production. The base of the top one is even marked "Not Produced for Sale". The auction house is based in Worcestshire, England. It is unknown whether these will now be part of a New Zealand collection. Lot 1044 sold for 3,600 British pounds and the rich flambe glazed one, for 3,000 pounds.
