It's December, so the auction houses are now on the home stretch to the end of trading for 2019.
Cordy's have their final catalogued antique sale on Tuesday December 10th. A highlight for me is lot 358 : A rare and large 19th C New Zealand historical silver Maori themed brooch by Adolph Kohn. Estimated at $1,500 - $3,000.
Webb's new sale category 'Made in New Zealand', takes place the next day. This includes lot 44, a rare pair of colonial Kauri Scotch chests estimated at $2,500 - $3,500.
Webb's also have an Asian Art auction on Thursday Dec 12th 6pm and Cordy's have a Christmas Sale on Monday Dec 16th at 4pm.
I hope all auction staff have a relaxing and refreshing Christmas break and I look forward to seeing what comes to market in 2020.
